Notes
This book is exactly what the title sets out in some detail. There are approaching 400 closely printed pages which contain Haig's private papers throughout the war. As such the book is a useful addition to the tools we already have. We do not know whether the Sheffield book about Haig's private papers (also in The Collection) is simply a modern version of this book, or something substantially different. But clearly this is the primary source.
