Notes
There is a Foreword by General Sir Roger Wheeler, GCB, CBE, Chief of the General Staff, 1997 - 2000. This is a new biography of a soldier whose career was finished (at least as a military commander) by the campaign in Gallipoli. This is a well written book, the subject is an interesting enough figure to warrant this careful study, to join earlier ones. The author particularly highlights Hamilton's post-war career as a military philosopher, an aspect of the man which is sometimes missed.
