Notes
The book contains a clipping from The Morning Post of 22nd November 1921 carrying an appreciation by the Duke of Northumberland of Robertson's book, then just published. Robertson was ill served by his political masters. This book is his own story of his career but the Great War looms very large in that story, and his dismissal because of his desire to see the BEF strengthened in the face of the huge German build-up is described in measured tones.
