This book was kindly presented to the Collection by Mr. Hubert Ross The price quoted is our estimate of its value. The book was first published by Eyre Methuen in 1985. We already have Lloyd George's own autobiography in the Collection, but this is a useful addition to what we have on this extremely prominent player in the war. It is, however, just a snapshot of four years of his life, which of course may well have been the most important, as they led to his replacing Asquith as Prime Minister in 1916. So for anyone studying the politics of the United Kingdom in the first half of the war, this must be an essential piece of reading.
