The book consists of, first, an account of the action at the Falklands, by Commander Verner, which has been edited by Colonel Willoughby Verner; then comes a "Memoir of the Author" by Harold Hodge. There is an "Epilogue" by Ida Verner. Finally, there are five Appendices: "Last Hours", "Letters", "Official Mentions", "The Subsequent War History of the Inflexible", and "A German Account of the Action of the Falkland Islands".
