This is a good regimental history of the 7th Bedfords, otherwise known as "The Shiny Sevenths". This book was co=published by the local Bedfordshire Historical Record Society, in conjunction with professional publishers. A large section of the book is devoted to reproducing the War Diaries of the Battalion -something in a regimental history which seems to be very unusual, but it seems to us that it is quite a good idea. The Battalion spent its war on the Western Front, as part of the 18th (Eastern) Division, which performed consistently well throughout the war.
