Notes
This book was first published as a softback in 2016 by Big Sky Publishing, Newport, NSW. The campaigns in Sinai and Palestine started off very much as a "side-show", with perhaps the primary objective of preventing the Ottoman forces from reaching Cairo. But as the war progressed, and Allenby became Supreme Theatre Commander, and of course Lawrence's influences started to be manifested, this theatre turned into something of a pivotal part of the war effort generally. Allenby's victory over the Turks in 1918 led to the Ottoman surrender, which was part of the falling of the House of Cards which undoubtedly influenced the ending of the war.
