Notes
This book is about the landings at V Beach on 25th April 1915. Many of those who went ashore there, by the village and fort of Sedd-el-Bahr near Cape Helles, did so from the converted coaler SS River Clyde. The book is the first full length study devoted to the River Clyde and the men who sailed in her. It is as much about the individual soldiers and sailors who featured in the landings as it is about the tactics/strategy of what was happening . Some may say that such a book was overdue....this is a good one.
