Taprell Dorling ("Taffrail"), was one of the Destroyer Captains who appear in this book, so he was an eye witness to much of what the book covers, although that is not to say that the coverage is not comprehensive and extensive. This copy is the "cheap edition" published one year after the first edition was published.
