Notes
The book is signed by Maurice Bacon, the co-author "To Theo with Best Wishes". This is an obviously privately published book about a battalion which otherwise would almost certainly have escaped the historian, and yet it is about a group of men who typified the whole ethos of the Kitchener Army. It is, moreover, a really excellent book - just over 100 pages but in large format - with lots of good photos, excellent maps, appendices of all kinds, and packed with information. In short, this is a wonderful book.
