Notes
The Notes to this book were edited by Alexandra Raskina. The Notes, Chronology, Glossary, and Afterword were translated by Laura E. Wolfson. Preparation of the Diary, Notes and Appendices were supervised by Timothy D. Sergay. There is an Introduction by Robert K. Massie. The book was co-edited with Kozlov by Vladimir Khrustalev. This is an essentially sad book. It is the personal diary of the Tsaritsa, starting in Tobolsk and ending in Yekaterinburg on 3rd (16th) July 1918. Overnight, the Family was wiped out by the Bolsheviks so that the page already prepared for the following day is eternally blank. There is an excellent Introduction by Massie which complements the Diary itself.
