This is a reprint dated 1975. The Publisher's Foreword from that date dedicated the republished work not only to all ranks who fell in the war, but especially to those who died serving with the Royal Highlanders (i.e. The Black Watch) and the 20th to 23rd Battalions Northumberland Fusiliers. The book is exactly what it says it is and is a wonderful mine of information, It records how the person died (K in A - Killed in action, D 0f W - Died of wounds, Killed - Killed, other than in action, and Died - from natural causes, etc). The date of death is also given, the rank and affiliation by regiment etc. The main sections of the book are categorised by regiment.
