Notes
This is a wonderful book. There are two days covered on each page. Each day's section has snippets of news about the Home Front, and bits and pieces about those of the area serving at the various fronts. There are many photographs, facsimiles of documents: you name it and it is probably somewhere in this book. It has been produced by The Living Archive at Milton Keynes Museum, which has collected endless reminiscences of the area of North Bucks which Milton Keynes now occupies. This is an enduring picture of a community at war. It is especially impressive in this, the largest by far of all the new towns/cities in the U.K., there is this devotion to the area's history.
