Notes
This book has an Introduction and Epilogue by Peter Hopkirk. This is a fascinating tale, in Teague-Jones own words, of his secret mission to Central Asia towards the end of the war. The story sheds some light on various aspects of what happened in that Theatre, some of them being decidedly esoteric. What happened in Central Asia immediately after the Russian Revolution is, to our modern ears, pretty incredible. Some of the things we read about in this book would seem to be more fitted in The Boys Own paper, or similar late Victorian/Edwardian publications. Anyone who is interested in Dunsterforce, or events which took place in the Baku area, at that time, should read this book.
