It is A3 size, with over 500 pages., the huge majority of which carry photographs which, in chronological order through the war, carry the story of the war. Most theatres of war are recorded, and there are some rare images in the book, as well as the more familiar ones. Obviously published just prior to the centenary of the war's opening, this is a valuable record. Just working ones way steadily through all those wonderful photographs brings the war, with all its horrors, to life.
