This is Liddell Hart's complete history of the war, published in the inter-war years. This particular version of the book was a special edition for the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. This history, of course, predates Liddell Hart's popular history of the war published in the Seventies (this is also in The Collection). This, earlier, book covers the whole war, naval as well as army, and includes most of the theatres of the war. It has no photographs but quite a liberal sprinkling of maps, particularly the two fold-out maps at the end of the book. Clearly there must be similarities between this book and the post war version of his story of the war. This one is probably the more relevant for The Collection.
