Notes
This is an unusual book, which sheds more light on the Armenian Genocides of 1915/16. MacKeen's grandfather was force marched from Western Anatolia to Marquada in modern Syria (passing through Raqqa - an ominous name in modern, ISIS ridden times) and managed to escape to survive, and eventually make it to the U.S.A. Part of the book is his story, the other part being the story of MacKeen's journey to find out what happened to him. As a result, this is an extremely useful book.
