Notes
This book was co-authored by John Horne, and Alan Kramer. This is a scholarly exposition of the German occupation of most of Belgium and parts of Northern France in the first part of the war. The authors, both noted academics from Trinity College, Dublin (Kramer's book on war crimes is also in The Collection) explore all aspects of what happened, and perhaps what was alleged to have happened. They conclude with chapters on the moral reckoning at the end of the war and - as they describe it - "the politics of memory". Note: This book appears to have reappeared at the time of purchase (Dec 2015), possibly it was re-issued at a lower price.
