Notes
This is a beautifully produced, 49 page, booklet. It tells the story of Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery. There are many original photographs and also modern images in splendid colour. This is an excellent guide and the student will learn much about how the war was for the troops, the medical staff, the local residents, and also what happened at the war's end to produce the beautiful serene place that this cemetery is. It should be noted that the cemetery is the resting place of Staff Nurse Nellie Spindler, one of only two women to die on this sector of the Western Front.
