Notes
There is a Foreword by General the Lord Richards of Herstmonceux, GCB, CBE, DSO. This is, basically, the story of the German attempts to use Afghanistan as the launching pad for a religious war against the British in India. The action centres upon the year 1915 but the book points to the subsequent German interest in stirring up trouble for the British in the region, which lasted through the inter war years and into World War 2. There are some interesting photographs in the book, and the maps in it are better than in many recent military histories.
