This book addresses a rare subject in the Eastern Front, and an even rarer subject in one of the specific phases of that whole campaign. But most unfortunately the whole book suffers from poor presentation and writing. The maps also are very poor and are almost misleading. Whilst concentrated study of the narrative has to place the book as a contribution to our knowledge of the Eastern Front, both the Author and the Publishers have missed a golden opportunity to partially plug the gap in this part of the history of the whole war. We really hope that both of them might revisit the book and correct these faults, which would undoubtedly result in a key volume for students of the war.
