This book comprises four Despatches sent by Murray between 1st June 1916 and 28th June 1917. There is an extract - as a Foreword - from Allenby's Despatch of 28th June 1919 referring to his indebtedness to Murray as his immediate predecessor. The book is especially interesting as much has been written about Allenby and his successful ending of the Turkish presence in Palestine, but there is much less about what happened before Allenby appeared on the scene.
